Tonneau Covers

Bakflip G2Did you know that trucks and cars are broken into or even stolen every day? To keep yourself from being the next victim of truck theft or of vandalism against your truck, there are a few things you can do. It should go without saying, of course, that you should always lock your truck doors and roll up your windows before leaving it unattended. Even that, however, isn’t enough to ward off the most brazen of thieves. For this reason, it may be a good idea to invest in a good truck alarm that will alert you when someone gets too close to your precious ride!

Another surefire trick for protecting your truck is to keep valuable or desirable goods out of site. If you’ve got stuff inside your truck, hide it in the trunk, under the seat, or somewhere else non-obvious. If you’ve got items in the bed of your truck, then strong tonneau covers can help you out. While there are many tonneau covers on the market today, the BAKFlip G2 or HD, both available from Auto Truck Depot, are particularly good models.

Keep Your Trailer Safe

curtHitches.jpg
If you have a trailer, then you probably already know that trailer hitches are necessary to haul it safely. While you should definitely invest in a good, strong hitch, one that’s appropriately matched to your trailer and vehicle and that won’t allow your trailer to come unhitched, it’s also important to follow some other safety measures too.

Did you know, for example, that many trailers feature a battery that can work to kick in your trailer’s brakes in the event of an accidental detachment? If your trailer has this feature (check to see), then you’ll definitely want to make every effort to keep your trailer’s battery fully charged.

It’s also important to set your trailer’s tongue weight correctly. If you haven’t done this, then it won’t matter if you’re using the most high quality trailer hitches available or not. In order for your trailer to stay balanced and upright, the tongue weight should be approximately fifteen percent of the trailer’s overall weight.

If you follow these tips and use good common sense, you should have a terrific towing experience.

Keep Your Vehicle Beautiful, Inside and Out

Whether you have a car, truck , SUV, or any other type of vehicle, chances are that you want to keep it looking nice, inside and outside. Taking care of the interior of your vehicle is pretty easy. You should clean up any stains or spills immediately and, better yet, you may want to think about not allowing food and drinks to be consumed in your vehicle so that accidents don’t happen again. Be sure to vacuum out your vehicle interior at least once a month or so and to give your windows a good clean. That should get your vehicle’s interior looking its best.

Now, for protecting the outside of your vehicle and for keeping you safe, why not opt for brake controllers? Brake controllers, such as the Draw Tite brake controller offered by Auto Truck Depot, help to ensure that you always come to a safe, smooth, even stop, even when (and especially when!) you’re carrying a large load. When it’s easier to stop your vehicle, it’s a lot less likely you’ll be driving around with a dented front bumper or other unsightly marks on your vehicle.

Polished and Prepped!

Image 1Do you want to keep your vehicle looking great? Do you also want a sure-proof guarantee that you’ll never be stranded? Well, it’s easy to accomplish both of those things if you’re willing to put in a little elbow grease. First things first, though, to keep your vehicle looking great, annual polishing is absolutely necessary. Fortunately, polishing really isn’t that hard. Just choose a quality polish and some soft, safe, microfiber cloths, and get to work! You may also need scratch concealer to hide those little dents and dings or tar remover to get rid of any sticky messes.

That should take care of keeping your vehicle looking its best, but what about keeping it from getting stranded? Well, that’s where a fuel transfer tank comes in! You should always keep a fuel transfer tank, preferably one that’s filled with gas, in your vehicle. That way, you’ll never be stranded because of running out of gas and, even better, you can help others who have run into a problem.

Wash Your Vehicle Monthly to Keep it Looking Great

auto_care_service.jpg
Think back to the day you bought your vehicle. What did it look like? Chances are, if you’ve had your vehicle for a while, it doesn’t look nearly as good as the day you brought it home. Objects get older, this is true, but it doesn’t mean you have to sit back and let your automobile get old and dingy looking. There are many things you can do to keep your vehicle looking its best into old age!

For example, once every month or so, you should wash your car’s exterior thoroughly. Make sure you use non-abrasive, non-damaging cleaning products and that you wash your vehicle by hand, not through a commercial carwash!  It’s a good idea to combine your regular cleanings with another great auto care service (or two!) offered by Auto Truck Depot. If your vehicle is regularly getting wet, as is the case when you wash it often, choosing to take measures to protect it from rust is a wise idea.

Fortunately, there’s an auto care service available known as “rust check,” and it can stop rust before it even starts! When you combine this service and other services like it with regular washings, your vehicle is sure to shine!
