Explore the Alberta Rockies: Top Skiing and Snowboarding

The ski season is still in full bloom, and Alberta has some of the most incredible ski resorts the world has to offer, so load up your belongings and head out to the Rockies. Make more room for your winter adventures by adding a cargo box to the roof of your vehicle to help you travel comfortably, and load your skis because you don’t want to miss out on what Alberta has to offer.
Norquey Ski Resort
Mount Norquay, Lake Louise, and Sunshine village are known as the big three, and are all located in Banff National Park. If a weekend getaway in Banff is what you are looking for, Mount Norquay is the ideal place to hit the slopes with your friends and family. Mount Norquay is located right in town and offers world class skiing, dining, tubing, and more.
Sunshine Village: TeePee Town LX
Sunshine Village is located just outside of Banff, and they recently opened the TeePee Town LX chair lift. This is the first heated chairlift in Canada and can move up to 1,200 people per hour at 305 metres per minute. If you plan on travelling with skis or snowboards, you may want to consider adding a ski and snowboard mount to your vehicles roof rack or hitch to save space inside your vehicle. This is especially useful if you plan on visiting multiple ski resorts with a car full of family or friends.
Not far from Sunshine Village is Lake Louise Ski resort. Ski both sides of this beautiful mountain, take a run on a world class terrain park, and finish the day off with some fine dining in the lodge.
These three incredible ski resorts are only hours from each other so you can experience all three in a single weekend, and that’s not all. You can also ski Canada’s highest base elevation of 1,697 metres at Marmot Basin in Jasper National Park, or you can check out the 104 trails of Castle Mountain 2 hours west of Lethbridge. And if you’re looking to spend some time in Calgary, you may want to spend the day enjoying winter festivities at Canada Olympic Park, or head out to Nakiska, Calgary’s closest mountain only 45 minutes away.

If you need a hand with racks or other vehicle accessories to get you set for the winter, be sure to give us a call.
