Don’t Haul Large Loads Without Brake Controllers

Image 1Whether you’re moving to a new home or just someone who regularly hauls large loads, you should know that having heavy cargo can impact your ability to stop normally and safely. When your vehicle’s weight is changed, due to cargo, braking is often harder than you’re used to. For example, it usually takes a bit longer to come to a full and complete stop with cargo than it does without it. This might not seem like a big deal…until that moment when you need to step on the brakes and stop fast. Then, whether or not you have brake controllers can make a world of difference.

There are many different brake controllers on the market, but you have to be careful about whom you trust your safety to. Sure, it’s easy to buy the cheapest product you can find, but is that really the one you trust? It’s so much better to purchase a product you can rely on and have the peace of mind you need to enjoy any trip safely. Plus, if you shop Auto Truck Depot, you can get a great product at an incredibly low price.

The Draw Tite Brake Controller is a perfect example. Priced to own at around $100, this simple, functional control provides the safety and reliability you need without costing you a fortune. There are many other models available as well. Choose dependent upon the number of axles you have and your unique needs. And, if you have any questions along the way, a reliable, friendly professional is always there to help, answer your questions, and provide general advice without the high pressure sales techniques you’ll find elsewhere.

Show Your Vehicle You Care with Auto Care Service

So many people just drive their cars around day after day, not thinking about what shape it is in or what services it might need. As long as the automobile runs, the need for services or repairs don’t cross the average person’s mind. The truth is, however, that you need to have your car serviced regularly to avoid being left in the cold. Even the very best of vehicles can have a fault or some other service need that you don’t notice until it’s too late. To truly protect your wheels, regular maintenance is an absolute necessity.

In addition to regular service needs, you may also find that you can benefit from an additional auto care service or two. One prime example is having a rust check performed. This valuable auto care service takes notice of the very first signs of rust and takes action against them. When rust is left to its own devices, it only gets worse and spreads to other parts of your vehicle, causing infinite damage over time. Having this service performed, however, can get rid of the rust that has already formed and keep further rust from happening.

In addition to having any existing rust remedied, you will want to keep your vehicle away from conditions that can cause rusting. When you wash your vehicle, always take care to dry it carefully. Also avoid parking your vehicle in areas where it can come into contact with moisture, especially when you don’t plan to use your automobile for extended periods of time. If you use these and other services from Auto Truck Depot, you should quickly find that your vehicle is in the best shape of its life.

Image 1
Tis the season for winter sports, and there’s no better time to load up your vehicle and head to the hills. This means the moving of a lot of gear. And while the excitement to get to the mountains is overwhelming, the amount of “stuff” you will need is also pretty substantial. Obviously, all of that stuff is going to take up a lot of space in your vehicle. Choose Strong Truck Bed Covers for Superior Protection

When it comes to truck bed covers, the selection on the market today is virtually unlimited. There are covers made from all kinds of materials and that attach to your truck in a wide variety of different ways. Unfortunately, however, not all covers are created equally. While some covers are tough and built to stand the test of time, others wear out quickly, leaving you out the money you paid for them and possibly with damaged or lost cargo. Don’t let this happen to you; research your cover before you buy and make sure that you purchase from a reliable retailer, like Auto Truck Depot.

While the Depot offers many different covers, suitable to any budget and just about any truck, your best bet is to go with a hard tonneau cover. While covers made from soft materials can work, especially when you’re on a tight budget or just need something for a quick cargo-carrying trip, the harder models are made of more durable materials that offer you better protection. Soft covers, for example, can easily get oversaturated with rain or other moisture, eventually soaking through to your goods. With a hard truck bed cover, however, the rain or moisture just rolls right off, unable to penetrate the strong material.

For best results, choose a hard cover made from a super-strong material like aluminum. You can even buy covers crafted from the same kind of aluminum that’s used to build airplanes—now that’s a tough material! If you need a cover now and can’t afford one of the nicer models, don’t worry. You can always buy a cheaper one to get you through and then upgrade when the time is right.

Air Springs Explained

Have you ever wondered how an air spring works? If so, you’ll be happy to know that we have the answer to all of your burning questions. It’s always a good idea to be educated about various automobile parts and accessories, how they function, and why they’re necessary. When you’re “in the know” in this way, it makes it possible to make informed decisions about what you need for your vehicle and to choose the best possible products to meet your needs.

An air spring works because of a compressor. The compressor’s job is to turn a screw very quickly which, in turns, sends high-pressure air into the reservoir. Inside the reservoir, the air maintains its pressure. If it starts to drop or rise, then the compressor adjusts how it functions to keep things perfect. Along with every wheel, you’ll find the actual “spring” component itself. Whenever your car goes over rough terrain, the wheel exerts pressure onto the spring, which doesn’t give in but instead takes the force of the terrain. This, in turn, creates a smoother, easier drive for the driver and passengers.

Now that you know how these springs work, it’s time to find the one that’s right for you. The best place to do that is definitely Auto Truck Depot, which offers the largest selection of the highest quality products, all at affordable prices. Our favorite is the Firestone air springs. Made by one of the most trusted names in the automotive industry, these products live up to their promises. Not only will these springs make for a gentle, more enjoyable ride, but they can also help to increase your load carrying capacity!

Protect Your Truck Bed and What You Carry in It

A truck bed is a wonderful thing. It provides a great place to sit when tailgating or spending time in the great outdoors. It’s also incredibly useful for storing and/or transporting cargo and other goods. For many workers, these beds are a necessity, as they allow them to carry around valuable tools and other pieces of work equipment. Since you rely on and use your truck bed so often, one of the smartest things you can do is to protect it, and the best way to do that is with truck bed covers.

These covers can protect your truck’s bed from dirt, debris, and weather damage, helping to keep it  looking new and beautiful for years to come. For this reason, many people leave their covers on all the time, even if they’re not transporting goods. When you are transporting cargo, however, that’s when these covers go from a nice thing to have to an absolute must. Few people realize just how vulnerable their cargo is when they’re on the road, but really take a minute to think about all that can happen. Cargo can easily bounce out of the truck bed, get blown away by wind, and get damaged during accidents or extreme weather conditions. The only way to keep that from happening is to have a strong cover on your truck’s bed, one that keeps your cargo right where it needs to be and that also protects it from the world outside. Stop worrying about getting from point A to point B without damaging your precious belongings; get a truck bed cover from Auto Truck Depot and drive with peace of mind.

The Perks to a Window Visor

There are many wonderful advantages of using a window visor in your vehicle. This is a great device that often gets overlooked, but one that is very necessary and useful. First of all, visors look great on any vehicle! You can get them in a wide variety of styles and designs, allowing you to add that personal touch to your automobile. It’s a good way to show off and look cool which, let’s face it, is something every car or truck owner wants!

More practically speaking, however, a window visor blocks a lot of rain and sun. This allows you to feel a whole lot more comfortable in your vehicle and to be safer too! When you’re not focused on harsh sunlight or cold rain, you’re going to be paying more attention to the road. For smokers, visors come in handy because they make it possible to smoke even when the rain is pouring down. Furthermore, visors deflect wind, creating a less-noisy, more pleasant ride, and sometimes, this can even result in being able to achieve higher speeds in your vehicle!

Even when you’re not driving, the benefits keep on coming! While parked, even if you’re in the hottest garage in town, the visor makes it so that your windows stay slightly open. Thus, without compromising your vehicle’s security, you increase ventilation. You’ll never have to step into a sweltering car ever again!

At Auto Truck Depot, you can find a great visor that will allow you to experience all of these benefits and maybe even more! While there are a ton of products to choose from, one of our very favorites is the Ventshade. It’s very affordably priced and gets the job done right.

The F-150: Great for Carrying Cargo

The F150 is a great truck for anyone who wants or needs to be able to haul around a large

amount of cargo. The large cab can easily hold several pounds of cargo without weighing down your truck and slowing your pace while on the road. Whether you regularly carry goods for work or just want to be able to help with moves and other events, this is one of the best trucks on the market for carrying goods. However, even a truck as good as this can’t do everything on its own, and one thing this truck can’t do is keep your cargo completely safe. That’s why you need an F150 tonneau cover.

A reliable F150 tonneau cover will be made of a strong, durable material, such as aluminum. It will fit easily onto your truck, preferably without drilling or other time consuming installation processes that can damage your truck. It should also be able to stand up to all of the different kinds of damage your cargo can encounter. That means protecting against, rain, snow, sleet, hail, excessive winds, collisions or impact, thieves, and sun damage. Fortunately, Auto Truck Depot has some of the best tonneau covers around, so you can find exactly what your truck needs.

There are roll-up covers, perfect for people who want easy access to their cargo and/or who only tend to use their covers every once in a while and want them out of the way the rest of the time. There are also flip-up covers, folding covers, and so much more. Browse through the large selection, find the perfect product, and start making the most of your F150.

Have Fun with Truck Bed Accessories!

Aluminum Bed CapsSome people come to own their vehicles randomly. Talk to a classic Mustang driver, for example; he or she is quite likely to tell you that a parent or grandparent passed down the vehicle. How you came to own your truck, however, doesn’t matter. Whether you’ve got a brand new baby or an old fashioned classic, you should know that truck bed accessories can make all of the difference between cool and downright crazy. You want your truck to stand out, be stylish, and show who you are. A fresh-from-the factory truck can’t do that, but a truck with the right auto truck accessories from Auto Truck Depot certainly can!

While there are a wide range of truck bed accessories to choose from, we just have to say that we love the aluminum bed cap. This stylish product fits all the way around your truck’s bed, offering shiny, affordable protection that looks and works great. Not only will it make your truck more beautiful, but it can also reduce the risk of theft, vandalism, and accidental impact by being so visible.

There are many other accessories to choose from as well. If you happen to be on a budget (and who isn’t in this economy?) we suggest you take the time to think about your needs first and your wants second. Buy the products that are truly going to help you get the most use, protection, and enjoyment out of your truck. Later, you can think about products that add beauty and style. The great thing about a bed cap, however, is that it offers both, and all at a price you can afford.

To Guard and Protect Your Hood

When it comes to truck accessories, hood protectors are some of the most hotly debated products out there. A lot of people say that they look funny, are expensive, and aren’t really necessary—that they don’t serve a real purpose. Other people, however, are firmly entrenched in the opposite camp. They swear by the virtues of hood protectors. These are usually people who have gotten their protectors from a good source, like Auto Truck Depot, and thus enjoy all of the benefits that go along with a good, quality protector.

No matter where you stand on this issue, we urge you only to be staunch in your decision when you can honestly say you have given quality hood protectors a fair try. Most people who give them a real shot, even if it’s just by driving someone else’s vehicle, end up seeing their importance.

Good protectors live up to their name; they protect your vehicle’s hood, windshield, and fenders from dents, chips, and scratches, all of which can be unsightly and extremely expensive to repair.  Plus, the quality ones have a unique, streamlined appearance (no bulk!) that can actually make your vehicle more attractive, not less!

If you’ve never tried a protector or a good one before, we suggest you give the affordable Hood Guard a shot! Priced at under a hundred dollars, this protector keeps you free from ugly damage. Plus, it is guaranteed not to flex, flutter, or bend, no matter how fast you go. It works with a wide range of vehicles, is quick and easy to install, and can be washed regularly with no problem! We know that once you try one, you’ll never go back to driving without it!

The Bak Bakflip G2 is constructed entirely of metal, meaning nothing is getting through this cover! Unlike covers made from soft materials, you don’t have to worry about moisture seeping through and damaging your goods. Protect Your Vehicles Floor

Image 1There’s a longstanding debate in the automotive community about whether floor liners or floor mats are better for a vehicle. Before you can take a stance on the issue, it is important that you understand the difference between these two products. Both floor liners and floor mats are designed to keep your automobiles interior free from unsightly stains and to protect against normal wear and tear on the floor of a vehicle. Car mats are meant to lie flat against the floorboards and usually have a special design that allows them to trap debris and keep it from spilling over onto the floor itself. Liners are different in that they feature walls extending over your floorboard’s sides. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Liners, for example, tend to be better at protecting against liquid spills, while mats are good at keeping dirt at bay. You should simply evaluate which kind of staining is more likely to happen with your vehicle and which one you want to protect against the most viciously. No matter what you choose, be sure to select a product made by a high quality manufacturer and crafted from durable materials. Auto Truck Depot has some of the best products around, so it’s easy to browse through the large selection and find a product that’s just perfect for you.

Husky is a great brand available through the store, and it makes both liners and mats. However, we really can’t get enough of the Husky floor liners. These liners are very affordable, costing less than $100, and will work to protect the back of your vehicle from all kinds of spills, stains, and normal wear.

Your Guide to Buying a Used Truck

English: 1997 Ford F-150 XLT
English: 1997 Ford F-150 XLT (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

If you’re on a tight budget but still want to own a pickup truck, then one of your best options is to buy used. Used trucks, as long as you choose carefully, can work just as well as their newer counterparts and are often much more affordable. When buying used trucks, however, you have to know how to ask the right questions and what kinds of things to look for. Of course, even the right questions won’t help you if you’re not dealing with an honest seller in the first place, so make sure you take care of that before anything else. Do your research, and only work with used sellers who have a good reputation.

You’ll always want to find out whether or not the truck in question was a work or commercial vehicle. If so, then it may have more wear and tear than a truck that was personally owned. While this doesn’t mean you can’t buy former commercial trucks, it does mean you need to be even more selective. Certain parts of the truck, including the tie rods and ball joints, may need replacing or a little TLC to work as well as you hope. Check out the truck bed too. If trucks have been regularly protected by truck lids, also known as tonneau covers, then they will likely have fewer signs of use back there. If truck lids weren’t used, however, you can expect to see dings and scratches that may be difficult and expensive to remove. If you do get a truck with a bed that’s in good shape, keep it that way by buying your own cover; these are widely available from Auto Truck Depot at affordable prices.

Snow Will be Here Soon

There is an art to using snow plows, which is something that many people don’t realize. Most people, in fact, just purchase a plow and then set to using it in the way they have been taught or that seems like the most reasonable. Unfortunately, they often end up causing damage to their plow or not getting the job done as quickly or as well. It’s important to properly prepare a yard or other area for snow plow usage and then to plow correctly.

Correct preparation for plowing means having plenty of safety equipment in tow, just in case something goes wrong. Keep a fire extinguisher, basic tools, a flashlight, first aid supplies, and other helpful items in easy reach. For best results, you’ll also want to keep additional hydraulic fluids and hoses, as well as additional bolts at hand. Make sure you’ve got the correct tire pressure for using the plow, that your engine belt and all hoses are in good shape, and that correct fluid levels are maintained all around. Everything on your vehicle should be working and working properly! It’s even better if you can add in backup lights. Finally, check for any issues or damages to your plow, paying special attention to the cutting edge.

When you’ve done all this, you’ll want to refer to your owner’s manual for other tips and advice on plowing techniques. Snow plows, as you can see, have to be used carefully and properly for a safe and pleasant experience. One plow that is very easy to use and that you can get at an affordable rate from Auto Truck Depot is the Snow Pusher. You still have to prepare properly and use caution when operating, but this one makes it a simpler job than most!

The Dangers of Driving without a Truck Lid

Picture this scenario—you’re moving to a new home, and you’ve loaded up the back of your truck with all of your favorite and most valuable possessions. Electronics, appliances, clothes, furniture, and everything else are stored in the back of your truck. You assume they’re all safe, so you start driving, only to get caught in a sudden and unexpected rain storm. By the time you reach shelter, all of your goods are soaking wet, and many of them are ruined. Unfortunately, this isn’t the only scenario that could happen either. There could also be heavy winds that cause lighter items to go flying away, or you could get into a wreck, which could send your goods bouncing out of the back of your truck and onto the road. The list just goes on and on, and sadly, these kinds of incidents happen all the time. The good news, however, is that there is something you can do to protect your most precious cargo. That something is to buy and use truck lids every time you’re traveling with goods in tow.

These covers, when purchased from the right retailer, are inexpensive, reliable, and built to stand the test of time. Lets Bike

Swagman XTC4
If you’re into biking, then there are some hot spots you should definitely check out. One great place is the Route of the Hiawatha, which spans both Idaho and Montana. This is a long, winding trail that takes you through the majestic St. Paul Pass tunnel, and Clear Creek Trestle. Plus, if you’re not up to making the trip back by bike, you can take the shuttle!

If that doesn’t sound like the place for you, then we recommend the George S. Mickelson Trail, based in South Dakota. This is a long trail—110 miles, but it takes you right through the heart of the gorgeous Black Hills. If you want to take in lovely scenery and feel at one with nature, this is certainly the trail for you.

Another great place is the Greenbrier River Trail, located in West Virginia. This is a shorter, 79 mile trail that takes you through major state parks and towering forests. It’s another one that’s intended for the nature lovers. Likewise, the East Bay Bicycle Path of Rhode Island is a good choice. It’s suitable for riders of all skill levels, at a brief 14 miles but you’ll get to take in Narragansett Bay, Brown University, and some lovely parks.

If you want the freedom to get to all of these places and more, then you’re going to need some bike racks on your vehicle. You should choose your bike racks based on how many bikes you plan to transport and the size, make, and model of your bikes. You want something very secure and functional, but also attractive, and the place to find it is at Auto Truck Depot. Be sure to check out the awesome Swagman XTC4.

The Advantages of Owning a Pickup

There are many wonderful things about owning a pickup truck. First of all, you’ll never have to wonder “How am I going to get that home?” ever again. If you see a piece of furniture you want, a large appliance, or anything else, you can rest assured that you’ll have a way of getting it back to your home. Your truck can also come in handy for helping with your friends and family members too. Anytime someone moves or needs an object transported, you’ve got it covered! Some people have even used their pickup trucks for financial gain, by charging to haul objects from one place to another. For those who regularly carry goods, pickup truck covers are a must since they’ll protect the cargo from weather, accidents, sun damage, and more.

Another great thing about pickup trucks is that they tend to be some of the safest vehicles on the road today. Most are built incredibly strong, using the toughest possible materials. Furthermore, they tend to sit higher up than most vehicles, which not only lets you feel more in control, but also makes you more aware of and better able to see what’s happening around you. This can enable you to avoid accidents.

Pickup trucks, with their hefty tires, are also great for tough weather conditions. No matter how much snow and sleet are on the ground, your truck will likely be able to power through with ease and safety. Just make sure you’ve got all of the right truck accessories, including those pickup truck covers we mentioned earlier, to help you make the most of your truck. In addition to pick up covers, you can find many other accessories at Auto TruckDepot.

Keep Road Debris at Bay

Husky Mud Flap

If you’ve got a nice vehicle and you want to keep it that way, then you want to be taking several measures to protect it. One area that tends to be disregarded when it comes to protective measures, however, is the back end of the vehicle. This is unfortunate, because it is an area that is constantly exposed to potential damage! Picture all the dirt, rocks, and other debris your tires pick up, and then imagine all of that junk being thrown back at your formerly pristine paint job. That’s not just a made-up scenario; it’s what happens every time you hit the road. Plus, slime build-up happens easily. One way you can protect against these unsightly messes is by adding mud flaps to your vehicle.

Despite the name, mud flaps protect against much more than just mud. Plus, they work to protect your vehicle’s entire backside, not just the one small area that’s covered by the flap itself. If you want a wide selection of flaps, then check out the choices offered by Auto Truck Depot. This supplier has flaps for the heavy-duty all-terrain driver and for the road warrior who prefers to “go wild” driving through the city or neighborhoods.

Some good and very versatile flaps are the Husky Molded Mudguards. These flaps are built to fit perfectly on the exterior fenders and to protect your vehicle fully. They can be installed in just a few minutes of your time, without any special tools, and are built to last thanks to their construction of impact-resistant thermoplastic. Plus, they are black, making them easy to blend with any kind of vehicle and also adding a little hint of style and sophistication.

You will Flip Using a Bakflip Truck Box

Bakflip Bak BoxMost people who add a truck box to their vehicle end up using it as a handy tool box. If that’s your plan, you might already be thinking and planning about what tools and other items you are going to include. While you may need or not need some of our suggestions, we’ve compiled our list of must-have in-truck tools with concern for those items that are really going to come in handy on a regular basis.

We suggest that, in your truck box, you include at least fifteen gallons of fuel. This might sound like a lot, but it can really come in handy if you get stranded far away from the nearest gas station! With this amount of gas, you can always make it that extra mile to get the help you need. Carrying a few gallons of water is a good idea as well. The water can, of course, serve as a replenishing drink if you suffer a breakdown and get stranded somewhere, but it can also be used for overheating engines! A fire extinguisher is another good idea, just in case of any accidents or serious problems with your truck. Other highly recommended items include a tow strap, blankets, a flash light, appropriately-sized ratchets, a breaker bar, adapters, extensions, drive sockets, combination wrenches, vise grips, a hammer, and screwdrivers.

Once you’ve decided what to include in your box, check out Auto Truck Depot’s great selection of boxes and all the necessary accessories to go along with them. One box we particularly like is the Bakflip Bak Box. It’s long, slim design is perfect for storing a lot of items without taking up all of your space. Plus, the price is pretty nice too!

The Need for Running Boards

If you’re a truck owner, chances are you have other friends who are also truck owners. It’s also pretty likely that you’ve heard them talking about the importance of running boards. If you’re not entirely sure what these boards are all about and what they can be used for, don’t worry. Your secret is safe with us. We’re here to provide you with the answers you need, without you having to look puzzled in front of your friends.

Running boards are at least partially about style. While there are plenty of other reasons to use these devices, most people, if they are being honest, will admit that they simply like the smooth, streamlined appearance they add to a truck. Outside of style, one function of these boards is to help people get in and out of the truck with ease. This is especially helpful for small children, those of shorter stature, and the elderly, injured, or disabled.

Of course, if you look back to old-time gangster movies, the whole purpose of the boards was to have something to stand on while the vehicle sped down the street and the bad guy was shooting from it. Hopefully, you don’t plan on getting involved in anything like that anytime soon, but it’s a fun piece of trivia to know at least.

In all seriousness, if you think one of these boards is something you would like to add to your vehicle, then we strongly encourage you to check out the wide selection at Auto Truck Depot. No matter what look or style you’re going for, you can find it there. If you want something simple and timeless that will work with absolutely any truck, check out the basic black running board.

The Importance of a Tonneau Cover

Do you regularly haul around cargo in your truck? If so, you should know that your cargo is extremely vulnerable if you’re not using a tonneau cover. One of the biggest dangers to your cargo is the weather. Rain and snow storms can hit unexpectedly and, if your goods aren’t covered when they do, you run the risk of moisture damage. Heavy winds are another problem and can cause lighter cargo to blow away, never to be seen again. You also have to think about the risk of getting into an accident. If you do, your cargo likely wouldn’t be protected without a secure cover in place. Tonneau covers are also vital for protecting your cargo from thieves. You can’t possibly watch your goods at every second, and even leaving them unattended for a brief period of time is risky.

There are many tonneau covers on the market, but Extangtonneau products are some of the best and most reliable. Extang tonneau products can be purchased through Auto Truck Depot at an affordable price. Plus, there are different covers to choose from, allowing you to choose the perfect accessory for your vehicle.
One of the most popular Extang tonneau covers is the solid-fold model. Crafted of airplane-grade aluminum, this cover is built to last, and, best of all, it attaches to your truck in mere minutes with no drilling or expensive tools required. This cover not only protects from unexpected weather, road accidents, and thieves, but it’s also great at keeping sun damage at bay. If this cover isn’t right for you, there are other models, all designed to give you an affordable way to keep your cargo safe.

Truck Canopies with Style

Truck canopies are a smart addition to any truck, and there are lots of great styles to choose from. For those who just want a canopy for temporary or infrequent use, temporary canopies are an affordable option. There are freestanding canopies designed for easy installation and portability. Most are made of polyethylene, which is durable enough to last for many uses. Plus, it offers your truck a lot of protection from the sun’s harsh rays.

You can also find enclosed truck canopies to help protect the sides of your vehicle. A lot of people neglect to think about this part of the truck, until they drive through bad weather and realize their error! Make the smart choice before you get drizzled on.

Of course, then you have basic permanent canopies, meant to last for the life of your truck. If you’re going this route, you’ll want to be extra careful to pick a canopy made of strong, long-lasting materials. Otherwise, you could be stuck with a falling apart canopy that makes your truck look less than beautiful on the road, and nobody wants that.

If you shop with Auto Truck Depot, you’ll be able to choose from all kinds of awesome canopies. While the style you pick is completely up to you, we do strongly recommend the Mark I Cabhigh. This reasonably priced canopy is designed with style in mind! It’s not big and bulky like many other canopies, but it’s still fully capable of providing you with the protection you need. Plus, it’s easy to transport and to install. It even features tinted windows for increased privacy and protection from the sun. If this canopy isn’t right for you, don’t worry—this massive shop is sure to have one that is!

Tonneau Covers Designed for Ease

Access Rollup Tonneau Cover
If you’ve got a truck, then you need to be using a tonneau cover. Tonneau covers come in a wide range of different styles and designs, and it’s important that you find the perfect one to suit your needs. One of the more common types of tonneau covers are roll-up covers. These covers are usually crafted from vinyl and are designed to attach to your truck’s bed. They have the advantage of being some of the cheapest covers on the market , and also of being super lightweight, easy to install, and easy to remove and reattach when necessary. However, their one disadvantage is that they are generally not as secure as other types of covers.

For affordability plus extra security, you should check out snap covers. They are generally fairly cheap, but are made more secure by the fact that they actually snap into place over your truck’s bed frame. Sure, they might take more time to attach and to detach, but you’ll never have to worry about losing your cover.

Folding covers are a good choice too! They feature multiple panels that fold together to cover or uncover your truck’s bed. You’ve also got retractable covers, hinged covers, low profile covers, locking covers, hard covers, soft covers , and many other types to choose from.

No matter what cover you ultimately decide upon, rest assured that Auto Truck Depot has you covered (pun intended!). The shop has every kind of cover you could ever want, and each one is guaranteed to be high quality and extra durable. Definitely check out the Access roll-up cover if you’re looking to save on cash. It will work great, while still costing under $500.

Lets Hitch

20K R5 Fifth Wheel RollerIt might come as a surprise to you to learn that there are actually several different types of trailer hitches. Most people think all trailer hitches are essentially the same and do not realize that they actually come with classifications. It’s important to understand the different classifications so that you can end up with a hitch that is the perfect fit for you.

One element of a  hitch is the trailer hitch receiver. These hitches are the ones you’ll see the most often. They are usually constructed from steel and are designed to attach securely to the car or truck’s frame. While they are, of course, designed for pulling trailers, they can also be used for carrying bike racks and cargo carriers. Within this category, you’ll find different classes of hitches. The class is based upon how much weight the hitch can handle and the size of the receiver opening.

When you need a hitch for a super tough job, a fifth wheel hitch is going to be your best bet. These are mostly used with trucks and can often carry upwards of 30,000 pounds! They fit onto the truck bed. There are also specially designed hitches for specific jobs or for specific purposes. For example, you can get an invisible hitch, which can’t be seen but still hauls easily, or hitches specially designed for various types of cargo.

Fortunately, Auto Truck Depot has every kind of hitch you could ever need. While you’re encouraged to browse the wide selection, definitely check out the 20K R5 Fifth Wheel Roller. This is a fifth wheel  hitch as discussed above, and is designed to carry even the heaviest of loads with ease.

Image 1
Let’s take a look at two different scenarios. In the first one, you’re driving down the road, your trailer attached securely behind you. The trailer contains all of your most precious belongings, things you wouldn’t ever want to lose or have broken. You get a little too close to the vehicle in front of you and slam on your brakes. Since you don’t have brake controllers installed, your vehicle stops just in the nick of time, but your trailer doesn’t. All of your belongings get rattled around and a few get broken. If the stop was really bad, your trailer might have even become detached. This is not a happy picture!

In the second scenario, you’re still driving with the trailer and all of your possessions behind you. And, just like before, you make that tough stop. This time, however, you’re using high quality brake controllers, and your stop is smooth and easy. Your vehicle stops at the same time your trailer does and none of your belongings are even a little disturbed.

Obviously, everyone wants to be a part of the second scenario, and no one wants to be a part of the first. It’s really easy to spot the difference between these two happenings—it’s the brake controller, or the lack thereof! So, don’t wait another second. You can buy your controllers affordably from Auto Truck Depot. While there are many awesome products and brands to choose from, we strongly recommend the very affordable Primus IQ. For less than one hundred dollars, you’ll get a controller that is super easy to install and that requires no manual adjustments, no matter what type of terrain you’re driving on!
