A good truck box needs to be, in my humble opinion, versatile. I don’t mean multi-purpose (it has to be that, too), but I mean it has to be the type of truck box that can withstand both the heavy use of commercial industry, as well as, that of the average Canadian who wants to haul a few tools or groceries around town. Our two favorite truck boxes are Weatherguard and Tradesman. I talk a lot about how much I love Weatherguard products (and I do), but I think unless we’re talking fuel transfer Tradesman and Weatherguard are pretty much identical. Tradesman products are hand made and are just a sturdy group of product.
A truck box needs to be sound and of a decent thickness in metal. Tradesman truck boxes are indeed that. You only have to tap on one to see what I mean. I personally love the diamond design on the metal. My wife’s truck actually has a Tradesman powdered metal truck box that she likes quite a bit. She feels it matches up nice with the exterior of the truck. So in addition to it being a good study metal, it’s obviously a nice looking box.
The fact that these boxes are hand made means something to me. It also means a lot for people who are investing a lot of money in truck boxes to haul expensive equipment around. It means that you don’t have to make another purchase in a year or two. Craftsmen make these boxes and they make them built to last. I can name several customers who make repeat purchases of Tradesman brand truck boxes just because they ones they had outlasted their vehicles.
If you need someplace secure and safe to haul expensive equipment I’d highly recommend a Tradesman truck box.
